Actor Kim Seon-ho (36) finally overcame his controversy to resume his career. He will re-start through his screen debut film “Sad Tropical”.
According to the film industry on Nov 18th, all major cast members, including Kim Seon-ho, will attend the script reading meeting. Actor Go A-ra, who was considering appearing as the female protagonist early on, has decided to join after much consideration and will be together with the team on the same day.
Kim Seon-ho plays a mysterious character who interferes with the boy’s life and seems to become his assistant. Meanwhile, the only actress of the cast Go A-ra will transform into a character that holds the key to the plot twist of this movie. A rookie actor has been chosen to portray the role of the main character and is expected to be officially introduced at the script reading.
“Sad Tropical” is a new film directed by Park Hoon-jung, who succeeded in the noir genre’s legend “New World” and the female action “Witch”, drawing attention from the production stage. The movie is about a boy, who was born of a Korean father and a Filipino mother, dreams of becoming a boxer and his story of coming to Korea to find his father.
Receiving huge love after the success of “Hometown Cha Cha Cha“, Kim Seon-ho faced a crisis in his career last month due to the disclosure of his ex-girlfriend A about his private life. Kim Seon-ho admitted to all the claims and apologized. Because of the revelations of his personality, Kim Seon-ho dropped out of KBS2’s “2 Days 1 Night“. His appearance in the two movies “Dog Days” and “2 O’Clock Date” was also canceled.
However, public opinion was overturned when Dispatch revealed reports from Kim Seon-ho and A’s acquaintances. While in the discussion on whether to replace Kim Seon-ho, the production team of “Sad Tropical” eventually decided to proceed with the filming within this year and officially announced Kim Seon-ho’s appearance in the movie on the news.
Kim Seon-ho’s agency – Salt Entertainment said, “He will work hard to pay back the given opportunity.”
