Lee Jae Wook: “Go Yoon Jung has incomparable beauty, Jung So Min has the skill of a veteran”
Actor Lee Jae Wook expressed his gratitude to Jung So Min and Go Youn Jung, who worked together with him in tvN’s “Alchemy of Souls”.
Lee Jae Wook said in a recent interview, “Go Yoon Jung, who plays the role of Nak Su, must have had a hard time filming Part 2 of ‘Alchemy of Souls’, but she never lost her smile on the filming set. She is admirable. There is a line calling her an ‘Incomparable Beauty’ in the drama, and she is indeed very pretty,” he praised his acting partner.
He continued, “Go Yoon Jung is a very bright person. Her positive energy is beyond measure. It’s not easy to follow the filming schedule without losing your smile like that. She is a partner who makes me realize that the atmosphere on the filming set can be changed by just one person,” he added.
As for Jung So Min, who left the show after receiving great love from viewers in Part 1 as the main character Mu Deok, Lee Jae Wook said, “She has done so many works before, which is why she is very experienced.” He expressed respect for Jung, saying, “She has her own know-hows.”
tvN’s Saturday-Sunday drama “Alchemy of Souls” drew attention right from the casting phase as it chose rookie actors Park Hye Eun and Lee Jae Wook as its lead roles. However, as the filming began, actress Park Hye Eun left the cast after expressing her burden of acting as the female lead. In response, the production team searched for another actress and decided on choosing Jung So Min, whose acting skills have been proven, rather than another rookie.
Jung So Min played the role of Mu Deok brilliantly with perfect chemistry with :ee Jang Wook (playing Jang Uk) as if the role was originally made for her. Thanks to the two’s fantastic chemistry, “Alchemy of Souls” went viral, contrary to concerns in the beginning.
However, Jung So Min naturally left the show as Mu Deok is shown as dead in Part 1. Therefore, Part 2’s heroine is changed from Mu Deok to Nak Su (played by Go Youn Jung). This time, Lee Jae Wook will be drawing a great love line with Go Youn Jung following Jung So Min.
Some fans miss Lee Jae Wook and Jung So Min’s chemistry and resent (?) Jang Uk for falling in love with Nak Su. When asked “Who do you want to receive the best couple award with, Go Yoon Jung or Jung So Min?“, Lee Jae Wook wittily replied, “I want to receive that award with Shin Seung Ho, who plays Crown Prince Go Won.“
Meanwhile, Lee Jae Wook, who debuted in tvN’s drama “Memories of the Alhambra” in 2018, has grown into a trustworthy actor. He appeared in “Search: WWW”, “When the Weather Is Fine”, “Extraordinary You”, “Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol”, “Move to Heaven” before receiving explosive love from viewers as Jang Uk in “Alchemy of Souls”.
