The group FIFTY FIFTY recently celebrated its first anniversary
At this moment, none photos of all four members can be found on the official account of FIFTY FIFTY on November 18, its 1st anniversary. All of the photos were replaced with Keena’s for the group’s debut anniversary celebration.
Earlier, FIFTY FIFTY became a globally popular group with the song “Cupid,” which was released five months after its debut, ranking 17th on Billboard’s main single chart “Hot 100.” However, shortly after the honor, in June, the group applied for a provisional injunction claiming that their agency ATTRAKT did not fulfill its obligation to provide settlement data and care for the members’ physical and mental health.
However, in August, the court rejected it. FIFTY FIFTY appealed and was refused again. It was predicted that the conflict between the members and the agency would continue, but a crack occurred when member Keena suddenly decided to return to ATTRAKT.
Keena pointed to producer Ahn Sung-il of The Givers as the mastermind behind the controversy over their exclusive contracts after her return. Evidence, including recording of producer Ahn Sung-il, was released, and ATTAKT later notified the other members of the termination of their exclusive contract.
In response, the three insisted on continuing the legal fight, but the public has already turned against them. On the other hand, Keena, who returned to her agency, attended the Billboard Music Awards as the only member of FIFTY FIFTY after a period of self-reflection. Appearing at the airport for the first time since the conflict, she looked nervous, but left for the United States with a smile.
In addition, Keena made a celebratory post on the group’s official account to mark its first anniversary, and her concept photos for the first anniversary were also released. Until last month, posts celebrating Shio and Aran’s birthdays were made, but it is now impossible to find the images of the former members on the group’s account.
Meanwhile, FIFTY FIFTY was nominated for the Top Duo/Group category and Top Global K-Pop Song category at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, which will be held on the 19th (local time).
