Kim Sae-ron used to show her pride in drinking on programs in the past but was eventually defeated by alcohol
Amidst the controversy over Kim Sae-ron’s drunk driving accident, the past broadcast in which she revealed herself as an “alcohol lover” belatedly resurfaced.
On May 18th, Kim Sae-ron crashed into structures on the street while driving under the influence of alcohol. On May 19th, the actress admitted to drunk driving through a handwritten apology posted on Instagram.
Due to this incident, netizens are re-examining Kim Sae-ron’s appearance on programs in the past when she showed her pride in drinking. In particular, Kim Sae-ron has boasted about her drinking tolerance in “On and off” and “The Fishermen and the City”.
Appearing on the broadcast of tvN’s entertainment show “On and off” on September 5th 2020, Kim Sae-ron enjoyed the thrilling “adult taste” while having a drink at home with her friend. She took a sip of the beer and excitedly exclaimed, “Yes! This is it”.
While answering questions in the “Tell me about your favorite things” corner of an interview conducted in August last year, Kim Sae-ron said, “First, I can drink really well. I want to challenge many new things.”
Meanwhile, Kim Sae-ron hit the guardrails, electric transformer, and street trees while driving under the influence of alcohol near Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul at around 8 a.m on May 18th. The police were dispatched to the accident scene after receiving reports from citizens but Kim Sae-ron tried to flee away.
According to the police, Kim Sae-ron was arrested for drunk driving based on the on-site breathalyzer test, but the actress demanded a blood test. The result of her blood test will be revealed in two weeks and the police will confirm the charges for Kim Sae-ron as soon as the result is announced. Due to the drunk driving accident, Kim Sae-ron decided to drop out of SBS’s drama “Trolley”, in which she was cast for the lead role.
