Jung Il-woo Recalls Car Accident Before “High Kick”, “Suffering Memory Loss, Friends Helped With The Shower”

Jung Il-woo appeared on episode 281 of MBC’s entertainment program “Omniscient Interfering View”, which aired on January 13th.

Showing up as Jung Il-woo’s manager, Joo Yoon-seok revealed that he has been friends with the actor since the second of middle school. 

While enjoying a meal with some friends, one friend said Jung Il-woo always gave them clothes. Jung Il-woo explained, “I really like shopping so I bought so many clothes but I cannot wear them all. So when my friends come around, I often give them as gifts”.

The reason Jung Il-woo is especially nice to his friends is because they helped him a lot in the past. Ahead of the shooting for “High Kick!”, the film that helped him become famous, Jung Il-woo had a car accident and even suffered short-term memory loss. Recalling the past, the actor said, “I was only 19 years old back then. After the accident, I couldn’t walk at all, but they (his friends) took him to the bathroom and helped me with the shower.”

Manager Joo Yoon-seok also told an anecdote of when Jung Il-woo helped him with his father’s funeral. Jung Il-woo shared, “I consider Yoon-seok a family member. Of course, Yoon-seok was by my side when I had a hard time. To me, he’s more like a companion rather than a manager”.
