Jun Hyunmoo Recalls The Broadcasting Mishaps While Delivering Traffic News During His Radio DJ Days

In the latest episode of JTBC’s variety show ‘Calling Agency’ that aired on September 30th, Jun Hyunmoo revealed that during his radio DJ days, amidst delivering traffic news as a reporter, he experienced broadcasting mishaps.
On that day, Jun Hyunmoo was supposed to deliver traffic news as a traffic reporter. Having joined MBC Radio, Jun Hyunmoo had to fill in for a junior reporter as the DJ. He had to write four scripts within an hour, starting at 7:30 in the morning, with only 12 minutes left. The traffic situation also became drastically worse, and Jun Hyunmoo was in a state of panic and confusion amidst the complex traffic information.
Using everything he had learned, he hastily completed the script with just 2 minutes and 20 seconds left for the live broadcast. In the midst of the anxious situation, he started delivering traffic information. However, as soon as he began, he made a broadcasting mistake by saying 57 minutes of traffic information instead of 30 minutes.
Without noticing his mistake, he continued the broadcast. Realizing his error later, Jun Hyunmoo calmly corrected himself. After the broadcast ended, he regretted his amateurish mistake. He added that he had never been so nervous before.
Following the broadcast, Jun Hyunmoo immediately contacted the reporter he had delegated the duty to and sought advice. In the second broadcast, just before discovering a traffic incident, Jun Hyunmoo seemed more composed. He finished the broadcast smoothly with a natural tone.
However, in the second broadcast, Jun Hyunmoo made another mistake by letting time pass too quickly. He failed to control the timing.
Eventually, he received some valuable tips from another reporter and prepared the script once again. It was the third broadcast, and after the introduction of a manual system, the reporting became more stable. He succeeded without any mistakes on the third try.
Listeners reacted by saying, “It felt like a disaster broadcast” and “It felt like watching the news on a dull day.” Jun Hyunmoo responded calmly, “Listeners are delivering harsh comments; my face looks grim.”
In the final 4th broadcast, Jun Hyunmoo quickly caught up with the accident news. He completed the traffic broadcast script as if it were second nature. However, while he was away at the convenience store, the traffic situation suddenly changed again.
Jun Hyunmoo expressed stress but quickly revised the script in a composed manner. He dealt with the situation calmly and delivered the traffic report proficiently. He finally succeeded in the last broadcast.
