Its rating drops to the 1% range… Sluggish performance of SBS drama starring Kim Se Jeong shocks netizens

Viewership ratings for a K-drama starring actress Kim Se Jeong have been sluggish due to a serious decline.

According to Nielsen Korea, a research agency that specialize in ratings, the 27th August episode of SBS drama “Today’s Webtoon”, recorded a viewership of 1.5% – the lowest so far since the drama started.

“Today’s Webtoon”, which aired right after hit K-drama “Why Her?”, recorded a 4.1% rating in episode 1, 3.1% in episode 2, and ever since has experienced a constant decline.

The series is a Korean adaptation of the popular Japanese manga “Jūhan Shuttai!”, and claims to be a “real drama” that shows the vivid reality of the webtoon production industry. It also features actress Kim Se Jeong, who returned 4 months after her megahit project “Business Proposal”, and so drew a lot of attention.

Seeing the low ratings, netizens on the online community ‘theqoo’, expressed their surprise, and left comments like “It’s fun, so why are the ratings falling?”, “The music and content match really well”, and “My family is enjoying it a lot”.

However, some other netizens responded differently, saying things like “It’s not well-developed”, “The emotions are lacking”, and “Kim Se Jeong lacks competence”.
