Idol Group Rankings for November 2023 Unveiled

BTS Takes the Lead, Seventeen Secures 2nd, and NewJeans Claims 3rd Place

The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute reported that, based on the analysis of big data in November 2023, the rankings of idol groups’ brand reputation were as follows: 1st place BTS, 2nd place Seventeen, and 3rd place NewJeans.

For the analysis of idol group brand reputation, the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute extracted 73,497,025 pieces of idol group brand big data from October 16, 2023, to November 16, 2023. Compared to the previous month, October, which had 74,898,688 pieces of big data, there was a 1.87% decrease.

The Brand Reputation Index is an indicator created through big data analysis to find how consumers’ online habits influence brand consumption. Through the analysis of idol group brand reputation, one can measure the positive and negative evaluations of the brand, media interest, and the level of consumer interest and communication. Qualitative evaluations from brand reputation monitors were also included.

The idol group brand reputation analysis integrated both boy groups and girl groups, measuring consumer participation index, media index, communication index, and community index to analyze the Brand Reputation Index.

BTS, which secured the top spot in idol group brand reputation, had a Brand Reputation Index of 6,057,076, with a participation index of 375,830, media index of 856,693, communication index of 2,260,878, and community index of 2,563,675. Compared to October, the Brand Reputation Index decreased by 3.56%.

Seventeen, in 2nd place, had a Brand Reputation Index of 4,579,540, with a participation index of 603,484, media index of 860,084, communication index of 1,204,365, and community index of 1,911,607. Compared to October, the Brand Reputation Index increased by 26.06%.

NewJeans, in 3rd place, had a Brand Reputation Index of 4,067,932, with a participation index of 496,076, media index of 596,566, communication index of 1,586,676, and community index of 1,388,614. Compared to October, the Brand Reputation Index decreased by 13.85%.

IVE, in 4th place, had a Brand Reputation Index of 3,890,014, with a participation index of 544,880, media index of 690,889, communication index of 1,233,896, and community index of 1,420,349. Compared to October, the Brand Reputation Index decreased by 12.76%.

RIIZE, in 5th place, had a Brand Reputation Index of 3,112,546, with a participation index of 438,844, media index of 576,343, communication index of 980,950, and community index of 1,116,409.

Changhwan Goo, the head of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, analyzed the reputation, stating, “In the November 2023 idol group brand reputation rankings, BTS secured the top spot. When looking at the idol group brand category, it decreased by 1.87% compared to the 74,898,688 pieces of idol group brand big data in October. Detailed analysis shows a 5.20% decrease in brand consumption, a 3.83% decrease in brand issues, a 1.24% increase in brand communication, and a 2.23% decrease in brand diffusion.”

He continued, “In November 2023, BTS, which recorded the top spot in idol group brand reputation, had high rankings in ‘recording, breaking through, entering’ in link analysis and ‘Jungkook, Billboard, Jimin’ in keyword analysis. The positive ratio was 92.94%.”
