“I couldn’t even tell who he was” Explanation of female nursing officer who is accused of leaving post and approaching BTS Jin

A, a female nursing officer in her 20s who is suspected of leaving her workplace without permission to see BTS Jin, expressed her position.

On June 20th, A’s legal representative said, “B, a nursing officer at the boot camp to which Jin belongs, visited after receiving a request for cooperation and only vaccinated. At that time, it was difficult to request vaccination support due to internal circumstances of the division, so B sought cooperation from A, who works in an adjacent unit.”

They added, “At that time, it was a situation where 3 injections had to be quickly given to each trainee, and Jin was wearing a mask, so A could not tell who Jin was. It is not subject to disciplinary action because A reported verbally in advance and was approved by the medical team leader (army doctor).”

A is accused of conspiring with B, who works in the 5th Division, in advance and moving for about 30 minutes by car at around 1:30 PM in mid-January to visit the 5th Division’s Recruit Training Center and administer the second dose of the dengue fever vaccine to Jin. After returning to the 28th Division, where she works, A reportedly said, “Jin seemed to be seriously ill.” In March, the 28th Division, 5th Division and 5th Corps conducted a joint investigation, but A insisted that she did not leave without permission to see Jin. Accordingly, the military prosecution’s investigation began, and the holding of the disciplinary committee was temporarily suspended.

Jin enlisted in December last year and is currently serving as an assistant instructor at the 5th Division’s Recruit Training Center.
