Han Hyo Joo’s side responds to tax evasion allegation, “There were no problems, just an accounting error”

Actress Han Hyo Joo expressed her position on the tax evasion suspicion through her agency BH Entertainment.

On June 13th, BH Entertainment told OSEN, “Han Hyo Joo underwent a general regular tax audit, not a special tax investigation, and there were no problems, such as omissions of taxes or tax evasion suspicion. However, during the audit, there was an accounting error due to differences in indicating whether something was taxable, which resulted in the payment of additional charges”.

They continued, “Our company and Han Hyo Joo have been paying taxes faithfully. In particular, Han Hyo Joo served as a promotional ambassador for the National Tax Service in 2011. IN 2014, she paid taxes faithfully enough to receive a presidential commendation for being an exemplary taxpayer”.

BH Entertainment added, “There has never been any unfortunate incident regarding taxes, and Han Hyo Joo, along with other actors under our company, will continue to prioritize paying taxes diligently in the future”.
