Funeral hall background “May I Help You”, cancel airing for 1 week… “To be considerate of the bereaved families”

“May I Help You”, set in the funeral hall, will be canceled in consideration of the Itaewon disaster.

On Nov 3rd, through an official statement, MBC announced the cancellation of the Wednesday-Thursday drama “May I Help You“, which was scheduled to air this week.

MBC said, “Set in the funeral hall, ‘May I Help You’ is a drama about a funeral director who grants the wishes of the dead. The drama develops with the addition of fantasy to the story of people dying and subsequent stories.”

MBC added, “Due to the nature of the drama’s material and development, it was judged that there could be some parts that could be painful for the bereaved families, viewers and people who encountered the disaster directly or indirectly. Accordingly, we inevitably chose to cancel the drama’s airing for a week to prepare for the broadcast by rearranging some of the contents.”

Finally, MBC added, “We ask for your understanding that we inevitably chose to cancel this week’s airing in order to be considerate of the bereaved families and to present comforting contents for viewers.”

Meanwhile, about 100,000 people flocked to Itaewon to enjoy the Halloween party on Oct 29th, causing a massive crushing disaster. According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, as of Nov 3rd, 156 people died and 157 people were injured, including 33 seriously injured people. The government designated a national mourning period from Oct 30th to Nov 5th.
