After photos said to be of a female model who died nude in the snow emerged and gained attention, the truth has been revealed

Recently, a series of photos gained massive attention on Chinese social media platforms, as it was said to have captured the scene of a female model who died nude in the snow.

On December 16, an account impersonating authorities announced that the rumors were fabricated, and the “female model” was, in fact, a mannequin, but this statement was later debunked.

In particular, these photos have been confirmed to originate from the SNS account of a photographer called Lin Xiwei, who has a completely different story to tell, revealing the truth.

In particular, Lin Xiwei is a Chinese photographer who specializes in photographing nude women. On December 13, a day before rumors of “a female model who died nude in the snow”, he published the aforementioned photos with the caption, “Highlights of today’s snow photoshoot.”

Lin Xiwei’s photos include various photos, including one with a naked girl lying with her legs curled up against a snowy background and another showing her being carried away by a group of men. There was also a photo of the same model wearing a red puffer jacket and another of her posing while standing.

However, the female model was completely fine, unlike rumors which claimed that she unfortunately died.

As a result, on December 15, Lin Xiwei posted a lengthy clarification about the rumors surrounding his photos on social media.

To begin with, the photographer mentioned that he started photographing women in lingerie in the snow more than 10 years ago. Seeing that these photo sets were well-received, even appearing on Japanese and Australian television, he continued this work, gradually transitioning to nude photoshoots in the snow.

According to Lin Xiwei, during the three heaviest snowfall days in Beijing this winter, he took photos of three girls at outdoor locations. He emphasized that the girls were afraid of the cold, but decided to take the photos for the sake of artistic creativity, at the same time assuring that the models’ safety during the photoshoot was a top priority.

The crew prepared warm clothes, had a caretaker’s car parked near the shooting location, and even invited everyone to have hot pot and karaoke after a hard day’s work, said Lin Xiwei.

In conclusion, Lin Xiwei stressed that the photos were all from a normal photoshoot, with no dead models and no use of mannequins. The main character in the photos is a model named Yiyi.

Lin Xiwei also criticized those spreading baseless rumors, especially accounts impersonating authorities. The photographer also declared that he took screenshots and recorded the accounts of those spreading rumors as evidence for future legal actions.

Additionally, a video snippet of behind-the-scenes footage of the photoshoot was also released, and Yiyi herself appeared to clarify that she did not freeze to death. Nothing terrible happened, the model insisted, at the same time requesting everyone to stop spreading lies about her “unfortunate death”.

Yiyi denies the rumors herself.

On December 17, Lin Xiwei expressed his frustration about Yiyi’s current situation. He stated that malicious rumors on the internet had a significant impact on the model’s life. Yiyi’s representative, fearing trouble, had cut off contact with the model, colleagues kicked her out of the dormitory for fear of repercussions, photographers refused to cooperate, and even her ex-boyfriend abandoned her.

He also shared two nude photos of Yiyi edited using AI technology (artificial intelligence).
