Yan Haoxiang, the main rapper of the Chinese boy group ‘Era Boys’ who is also active as an actor, recently found himself at the center of controversy.

On the 26th, Taiwanese media ETtoday reported on Yan Haoxiang’s struggles with his acting due to his fans.

Yan Haoxiang recently enrolled in the acting department of the Beijing Film Academy and performed on the theater stage. Many fans filled the audience seats to see him.

The problem arose during the middle of the play when a romantic scene between Yan Haoxiang and a female actress began.

According to the script, Yan Haoxiang was supposed to unclasp a necklace he was wearing around his neck, but an unexpected prop malfunction occurred.

In response, when the female actress extended her hand to help unclasp the necklace, objections from the audience seats erupted, shouting “No!”

Taken aback, the actress withdrew her hand, and the performance reportedly concluded in a chaotic manner that day.

However, after the show, the actress had to apologize due to continued objections, saying, “I will be more careful.”

Surprisingly, in the following performance, a ‘humorous’ scene was staged between Yan Haoxiang and the actress involving a hug. Yan Haoxiang, overly conscious of the fans’ reactions, performed a ‘socially distanced hug’ with the actress.

This scene quickly spread through Chinese social media and sparked heated discussions.
