“Dr. Romantic 3” drops still cuts of Lee Sung Kyung as Doctor Cha Eun Jae

The first images of Lee Sung Kyung, who is returning with “Dr. Romantic” Season 3, have been revealed.

On March 29th, SBS’s new Fri-Sat drama “Dr. Romantic 3” (written by Kang Eun Kyung, Lim Hye Min/ directed by Yoo In Sik/ Kang Bo Seung) released still cuts of Lee Sung Kyung.

“Dr. Romantic 3” tells stories about a true doctor against the background of Doldam Hospital in the countryside. Both Season 1 (2016) and Season 2 (2020) are SBS’s mega-hit dramas with a rating peak of 27%. By announcing the comeback with Season 3 after three years, the drama is drawing keen attention.

Season 3 will depict the story at Doldam Hospital three years after the events in the previous season. In the meantime, still cuts featuring Lee Sung Kyung’s character Cha Eun Jae, who showed impressive growth in Season 2, were released, raising fans’ excitement.

Cha Eun Jae used to walk an elite path surrounded by compliments and expectations, but she struggles with surgical anxiety and wastes her time wandering. After getting transferred to Doldam Hospital, she meets her life mentor Kim Sa Bu (Han Suk Kyu), who shows her how to overcome her surgical anxiety and become a real doctor. Lee Sung Kyung gained favorable reviews for her portrayal of the wandering and growth of the young doctor Cha Eun Jae with immersive acting.

In the released still cuts, Cha Eun Jae, who has grown and become more mature after three years, catches the eyes of viewers. She becomes an essential member of the CS Department and welcomes junior colleagues. The expressions and gaze of Cha Eun Jae when turning on her “senior mode” captivate viewers. Also, the way she carefully treats emergency patients makes fans look forward to seeing a new side of Cha Eun Jae.

The production team of “Dr. Romantic 3” said, “Cha Eun Jae will continue to grow more in Season 3. In addition to the synergy between director Yoo In Sik and writer Kang Eun Kyung, “Dr. Romantic 3” is expected to continue highlighting the strong teamwork of people working at Doldam Hospital, including Han Suk Kyu, Ahn Hyo Seop, Lee Sung Kyung, Kim Min Jae, Jin Kyung, Im Won Hee, and Byun Woo Min. It will premieres on April 28th at 10 p.m. as the follow-up drama to “Taxi Driver Season 2”.
