Daniel Radcliffe will not appear in the “Harry Potter” TV show?

It is unlikely that the star of the “Harry Potter” franchise, Daniel Radcliffe, will return for the new TV show.

The “Harry Potter” franchise, based on the popular novels of the same name, captivated audiences worldwide with a total of eight films, starting with the release of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” in 2001.

Even after the conclusion of the films, which marked the end of an era, the “Harry Potter” IP continued to thrive. Theme parks and plays based on the franchise have been created, generating ongoing excitement.

In April, it was announced that “Harry Potter” would be remade into an HBO drama series that would span approximately ten years. This news sparked considerable interest, leading to curiosity about whether the original film actors would be involved in this TV show.

However, Daniel Radcliffe, who played the lead role of Harry Potter in the films, is not planning to appear in the drama series. In particular, Radcliffe clarified in an interview with Deadline on June 14th that he has no intention of participating in the new series.

When asked about the possibility of appearing in the “Harry Potter” drama, he responded, “Probably not”, adding, “,From everything I’ve read about the series they’re going to be starting fresh and so it’d probably be weird to have me pop in”.

The actor further explained that he always thought Harry Potter was “always destined to become like Sherlock Holmes”, and he believes that there will be an eight-year-old child somewhere whose life will change, indicating that passing on the role to someone else would be a good thing.

On the other hand, the drama series “Harry Potter” is planned to unfold the content of the original seven novels over a span of ten years. J.K. Rowling, the original author, is involved as the executive producer. The casting lineup and release date have yet to be announced.
