“D.P.” Jung Hae In → Son Seok-gu to be back in Season 2… New faces Ji Jin-hee and Kim Ji-hyun to join the cast lineup

Netflix made headlines by unveiling the cast lineup and the script reading site of the original series “D.P. Season 2”.

Netflix’s original series “D.P.” (directed by Han Joon-hee), which made a big hit in 2021, is about to return with Season 2. It is going to continue the unfinished story with the participation of new faces. “D.P” is a Netflix series that tells the story of the D.P (Deserter Pursuit) team consisting of Joon-ho (Jung Hae-in) and Ho-yeol (Koo Kyo-hwan) chasing deserters with various backstories and facing the reality they did not know.

As soon as it was released in 2021, “D.P.” captivated many viewers with its outstanding completeness with its cast’s perfect acting, and in-depth directing. The sad and shocking ending kept the audience anxiously waiting for Season 2. In response to the viewers’ huge support, Netflix brought good news by confirming the lineup of “D.P. Season 2” and revealing pictures of the script reading. Accordingly, director Han Joon-hee and the entire main cast of “D.P.”, including Jung Hae-in and Koo Kyo-hwan as Ahn Joon-ho and Han Ho-yeol, the Military Police’s D.P. team that boasted amazing performances in the first season, Kim Sung-kyun as Sergeant First Class Park Bum-gu and Son Seok-gu as Captain Im Ji-sup, will reunite for the 2nd season, showing off their strong loyalty and solid teamwork. In addition, Ji Jin-hee and Kim Ji-hyun will join as new members and add more weight to the story.

D.P season 2

Ji Jin-hee, who has proved his wide acting spectrum through Netflix’s series “Move to Heaven”, dramas “Designated Survivor: 60 Days” and “Misty”, will make a special appearance as Koo Ja-woon, an Attorney General at the Military headquarters. Actress Kim Ji-hyun, who has built up a firm reputation by participating in numerous theater and musical stages as well as dramas “Thirty-Nine”, “Artificial City”, and “Backstreet Rookie”, will appear in “D.P. 2” as Lieutenant Colonel Seo-eun, the operational director of the Defense Ministry’s prosecution team. This raised the viewers’ curiosity about what kind of new stories Jung Hae-in, Koo Kyo-hwan, Kim Sung-kyun, Son Seok-gu, who created the “D.P.” syndrome, together with the new cast members will join forces to convey. 

The actors expressed their gratitude to fans who love season 1, while showing their stronger teamwork. I’m just excited to think that I’ll be able to feel that atmosphere again. I can’t wait to see all the actors and staff at the filming scene”. Ji Jin-hee and Kim Ji-hyun, who will add fresh energy to the story, said, “The character Ja-woon is a character that I have never done before, so it is unfamiliar to me, but I also have high expectations on how to create her. I will do my best so that I can draw a great picture with other characters”. Ji Jin-hee shared while Kim Ji-hyun said, “I’m really happy to be with everyone in such a great work. D.P season 2

“D.P.” which delivered a bitter message through the fresh subject of the military deserter arrest team and an absurd system with an attractive cast, won the “Best Drama” award in the TV category at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards, as well as the “Best New Actor” (Koo Kyo-hwan) and “Best Supporting Actor” (Cho Hyun-chul). Expectations are growing for “D.P.” season 2, which promises to tell a story that has not been shown in season 1.
