BTS RM Discusses the Rise of “Hate Culture” in the Social Era

BTS RM discusses the intensification of hatred in this era and defines love.

On July 5th, a video with BTS RM’s appearance was uploaded to Colde’s YouTube channel.

RM and Colde are close friends of the same age, and recently, they collaborated on Colde’s new song, “Don’t ever say love me.”

RM said, “I’ve been friends with Colde since 2016. As we made music together and went through similar timelines, the lyrics of ‘Don’t ever say love me’ were written with similar emotions, experiences, and feelings. When Colde first played me this song two years ago, I could relate. Emotions that endlessly sink down naturally emerged within me,” sharing the behind-the-scenes story of their collaboration.

Colde asked RM, “The theme of this album is ‘love,’ but what drives us to continuously sing about love?

To this, RM responded, “A month or two ago, I had a conversation with a senior artist I make music with. We discussed why love is necessary, why humans are programmed to constantly love. The driving force to love is simply because love exists within us. It’s a feeling that cannot be denied or non-existent.

He continued, “In the social era, it has become too easy to express hatred or disgust. The energy of hating and despising someone seems disturbing. Ultimately, I believe that speaking about love and spreading love and positivity are virtues.”
