Rapper DDG, the boyfriend of “The Little Mermaid” star Halle Bailey, released a new song expressing his dissatisfaction.
According to the US media outlet People on July 16th, the boyfriend of Halle Bailey took a jab at her through his new song, “Famous”.
In particular, the boyfriend in question, rapper DDG, has been drawing attention with the lyrics of “Famous”, his newly-released song. In the track, DDG openly expresses his displeasure about Halle Bailey’s intimate scenes with co-star Jonah Hauer-King in Disney’s live-action film ‘The Little Mermaid.’
For instance, DDG expresses his dissatisfaction by saying, “”Filmin’ a movie now you kissing dudes / You know I love you a lot / I don’t give a f*** if that s*** for promo / I don’t wanna see this s*** no more.”
He also admits to feeling insecure about Halle Bailey gaining popularity through “The Little Mermaid”, saying, “Why is y’all holdin’ hands in the photo? / You know I’m insecure, that’s a no-no”, as well as, “ I don’t even ask for much, I ask you to do the basic s*** / Hardest thing I did was fall in love with a famous bitch.”
Upon listening to DDG’s song, many internet users criticized the rapper for his lyrics, saying, “Don’t you understand the storyline of ‘The Little Mermaid’?” and “It’s natural for the princess to kiss the prince. It’s just acting.”
Meanwhile, Halle Bailey and DDG officially confirmed their relationship in March of last year. The couple seems to still be together despite the ongoing controversy.
On the other hand, Disney’s live-action “The Little Mermaid”, which stars Halle Bailey, did not overcome the “controversy” of casting a “black mermaid” and failed to become a global hit.
