Rosé has encountered many mishaps during her performances, but not only did she not flinch, she also handled the situation like a pro.
No matter how carefully BLACKPINK rehearses for their performance, it is still difficult for them to avoid sudden incidents that arise on stage. But with courage and experience, the girls often respond smoothly. Among the members, Rosé has been praised many times for her professionalism when dealing with these unexpected situations. When having technical issues or wardrobe malfunctions, BLACKPINK’s main vocal always stays calm, even helping her group members even though she is “in danger” herself.
Immediately throwing the ring away when it got stuck on her dress
Idols always go on stage wearing various kinds of accessories which sometimes can put them in unfortunate situations on stage. Rosé is not an exception. At the 2018 Seoul Music Awards, the female idol’s ring got stuck on her dress while she performed the song “As If It’s Your Last”.
The dancing was hindered but Rosé still remained calm. When given the chance, she took off the ring and threw it away. After that, BLACKPINK’s main vocal continued to perform as if nothing had happened.
Dancing till the last minute despite a wardrobe malfunction
One of Rosé’s most memorable wardrobe malfunctions occurred at the 2018 Melon Music Awards. That day she only wore a thin sleeveless silver top. Because the performance of “DDU-DU DDU-DU” involved intense choreography, the single strap connecting two sides at the back of the female idol’s shirt got completely loosened. Rosé even got more unlucky when her mic transmitter also slipped out, hanging behind her back.
However, Rosé still continued to sing and dance until the last minute. Although she was aware of the risk that her shirt could come off, her professional attitude helped her receive all the praises.
Throwing the entangled necklace in the middle of the performance
Rosé had another problem with her accessory at the music show Inkigayo in 2018. Rosé’s necklace unfastened while she performed the song DDU-DU DDU-DU. However, she did not let this accident interrupt the group’s performance. As soon as the necklace broke, Rosé quickly took it off her neck and threw it on the ground without even a second glance.
No matter how beautiful the earrings are, they are… kicked away
Yet another problem with her accessory, this time Rosé showed an even more definitive way to handle it. One of the main vocal’s earrings fell off while performing Forever Young, but she couldn’t bend down to pick it up because she was dancing.
Rosé also couldn’t ignore the earring because she and other members could trip on it while dancing. So the female idol had to constantly keep an eye on the earring and even… kicked it away when the opportunity came.
Giving signals for the staff to adjust audio equipment
When having sound problems, Rosé often signaled to the staff backstage to adjust the in-ear monitors for her. Notably, the female idol did it in such a quick and subtle way that it is not easy to notice without especially paying attention to her gestures.
A typical example is when the BLACKPINK member pointed at her in-ear monitor while looking at the staff to signal that she needed the volume to be adjusted during the performance of Don’t Know What To Do (Coachella 2019). After the sound was good enough, Rosé gave a quick nod and continued to perform. It would be difficult for fans to notice this if not for the fancam.
This continued to happen when BLACKPINK attended an event of a brand held in Bangkok (Thailand) in 2019. Just finishing the performance of “DDU-DU DDU-DU”, Rosé immediately looked towards backstage and pointed at the microphone to signal to increase the volume in the following performances.
Another time, Rosé gestured to adjust her microphone and quickly got back to the performance. This shows that she not only has quick reflexes but also handles the situation very professionally.
Help BLACKPINK clear obstacles
Rosé not only handled the incident neatly, but she also observantly helped the BLACKPINK members when they had problems on stage. During a performance of the song BOOMBAYAH, the “Australian rose” discovered that there was an obstacle on the floor, the group might stumble if not paying attention.
In a few short seconds before changing the choreography, Rosé quickly pushed the item away from where they stood. Thanks to the acumen of main vocal BLACKPINK, the members have escaped the risk of having problems while performing.
Almost fell but still protect Jennie
Rosé also “scored” when putting the safety of her teammates first in “heartbreaking” situations. On the stage of DDU-DU DDU-DU at Music Core show, she bumped into Jennie. Although she was wobbling, the female idol still quickly helped her groupmate so that the two would not lose their balance.
Slippery but extremely fast handling
Not only does Rosé skillfully handle problems in group performances, but solo activities also can’t make it difficult for her either. At the stage to promote the song “On The Ground” at Music Core, she slipped and fell while performing the choreography on one knee on the floor.
Making a mistake, but Rosé immediately stood up, continuing to perform so as not to miss a beat. This shows the professionalism and calm attitude of the female singer when “alone alone” on stage.
