Boy group Stray Kids was confident in their solid teamwork.
On March 18th, Stray Kids held an online showcase to commemorate the release of their new album “ODDINARY” and introduced the title song “MANIAC”. This time again, with the group’s producing team 3RACHA as the main axis, all members participated in writing and composing, which emphasized the group’s individuality.
Changbin said, “I also got inspiration from my daily life for this album. ‘Am I normal’ or ‘Am I weird?’ I wrote it thinking that I wanted to be free in the framework of such a society.” Han shared, “Inspired by people’s appearances, I wrote ‘Maniac’. I think that everyone has their own uniqueness inside. I want you all to show yourselves well in the ordinary.”
When asked if there was any difficulty in showing Stray Kids‘ music from “Hellevator” to “Thunderous”, Bang Chan replied, “3RACHA shared a lot of concerns and ran up against many walls before our debut. The reason why we can move forward with perseverance is because we were a team in the end. While working on ‘Maniac’, we talked about how to make a Stray Kids-like song. In the process, we achieved satisfactory results.”
When asked if there is any pressure for Stray Kids to release hit songs one after another, Lee Know laughed, “Thank you for describing our tracks as ‘hit songs’.” He added, “It’s true that I feel burdened every time we make a comeback because I feel that many people loved our songs. I think that burden also has a good influence because it is a process that we contemplate for a good image. We will become a mature group that overcomes the burden since the members tell each other a lot that we need to grow and work hard.”
Bang Chan expressed anticipation for promotional activities, “It’s the most rewarding when I enjoy our music with my fans on stage. I receive strength from the positive reactions and compliments of people around me. I was really happy when fans told me ‘Your music is my life’ during overseas tours.” He continued, “Our greatest weapon is teamwork. We can communicate without words. Our advantage is that each individual’s unique color goes well with others’ while working together.”
