Maezawa Yusaku is a billionaire entrepreneur famous for founding the e-commerce company Start Today and Japan’s largest online shopping mall, Zozotown. He is also known as an art collector, and is called “Japan’s Elon Musk” for his unique ideas and unconventional moves. In 2018, it was reported that he will become the first civilian to tour the moon aboard SpaceX’s spacecraft BFR in 2023, drawing public attention.

Along with this, Maezawa Yusaku announced that he would collaborate with eight artists on his space flight as part of an art project titled “#dearMoon”. He especially drew attention by revealing that all travel expenses for the eight selected people will be fully covered. At the same time, he presented two qualification conditions: the possibility of helping humanity and society by growing significantly through space travel, and the ability to “support” the passengers. The spaceflight project is planned to run over six days in 2023.

Meanwhile, T.O.P, who made his debut as a member of the group BIGBANG in 2006, left YG Entertainment in February.
