Ahyeon Who Could Have Debuted in BABYMONSTER: Jennie Lookalike, Going Viral Globally with a Single Cover
Attention is on BABYMONSTER, and the missing piece in their puzzle, Ahyeon, whose journey took an unforeseen route
Fans were taken aback on November 15th when reports surfaced that Ahyeon wouldn’t be debuting with BABYMONSTER due to health reasons. YG has also confirmed this.
Prior to this, Ahyeon was expected to be the ace member of BABYMONSTER once the group makes their debut with her amazing talent and captivating beauty.
Born in 2007, Ahyeon quickly rose to stardom as one of the most promising talents among the seven selected to debut as BABYMONSTER. Ahyeon showcased her versatility as an “all-rounder” – excelling in singing, rapping, and dancing – even as a trainee.
Ahyeon also bears a striking resemblance to BLACKPINK’s Jennie. Her pre-debut photos highlighted a captivating blend of innocence and chicness similar to Jennie. Ahyeon’s cover of “Dangerously” went viral globally, even earning praise from the original singer, Charlie Puth himself.
However, Ahyeon’s journey faced a significant hurdle when a video surfaced showing her rapping the controversial “n-word” during her high school days. The incident sparked criticism from international fans, leading to her disappearance from BABYMONSTER’s social media.
Ahyeon also missed BLACKPINK’s Born Pink Final Seoul show while all the remaining members were seen in the audience. This left fans to ponder whether her non-debut had been foreshadowed.
