YG Confirms BABYMONSTER’s 6-Member Debut as Ahyeon Exits for Personal Reasons

YG’s new girl group, BABYMONSTER, will debut without Ahyeon

According to News1 on November 15th, Ahyeon has been removed from BABYMONSTER’s debut lineup due to personal reasons. Consequently, BABYMONSTER, initially planned as a 7-member group, will debut as a 6-member group without Ahyeon. While there is a possibility of Ahyeon joining BABYMONSTER later, she will not be part of the debut this year.

YG officially stated on the same day, “BABYMONSTER, consisting of Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Haram, Rora, and Chiquita, will release their debut MV and song on November 27th.”

Ahyeon

Regarding Ahyeon’s absence, YG said that, due to health reasons, Ahyeon has decided to take a break. YG expressed regret for not introducing Ahyeon as a member of BABYMONSTER but emphasized the decision was made for the artist’s health and pledged support for her recovery and return.

Ahyeon, often recognized for resembling BLACKPINK’s Jennie, was praised by YG in February for being a well-rounded trainee with a confident center aura, exceptional vocals, and explosive rap skills.

With Ahyeon’s absence, BABYMONSTER’s final lineup includes Haram, Rora (both Korean), Pharita, Chiquita (both Thai), and Ruka, Asa (both Japanese).
