Kpop girl group EXID will reunite to commemorate the 10th anniversary of their debut
On August 9th, Sony Music announced that EXID will release their 10th year anniversary special broadcast “WE ARE EXID” on August 13th, which is their debut date. In addition, the broadcast will be aired on Naver’s Internet streaming service Naver Now.
Previously in a teaser video released on August 8th, EXID revealed that in “WE ARE EXID”, the group will present various contents such as talks about their precious memories of the past 10 years and live performances of their iconic songs. In addition, prior to this, the members also aroused curiosity by each posting on SNS a different letter of the alphabet and a meaningful emoticon.
Later on, fans connected the dots and realized the members’ posts, when combined together, formed the word “LEGGO”, which is the name of EXID’s fandom. Meanwhile, the true meaning behind the emoticons continued to be discussed until this day.
EXID debuted on August 13th, 2012 with a 5 member lineup consisting of Solji, LE, Hani, Hyerin, and Jeonghwa. In 2014, the group released the iconic title “Up and Down”, which became a hot topic on social media 2 months after its release and basically launched EXID to stardom. A fancam of Hani during the performance for “Up and Down” is considered to be the number one contributor to EXID’s success and the origin of the current “Kpop fancam” craze.
“WE ARE EXID” is a meaning full broadcast in that it will bring together EXID members, who are now all active in different agencies and realms.
Previously in June, Hani drew attention by announcing her relationship with psychiatrist Yang Jae Woong, who is 10 years older than her. According to Korean media, the couple started dating 2 years ago, and is still going strong.
