BLACKPINK resumes group activities, speculations reemerge about YG new girl group.
It is undeniable that YG is among the few Korean entertainment companies who have a gift for forming music groups. The groups from the company are all successful names and have an established place in the industry. Some of the names to mention include BIGBANG, 2NE1 and BLACKPINK.
Recently, BLACKPINK officially confirmed their comeback date. At the moment, fans are clamoring when YG trainees suddenly appeared out of nowhere as fans caught the sight of 7 girls walking into the YG building. They are speculated to be members of the upcoming girl group.
Up to now, it has been 6 years since BLACKPINK’s debut. Yet, the information about their female juniors are nowhere to be found, only unverified dripplet of information. Perhaps the only highly plausible guess coming from fans about them is the name of the group. Potentially, the new YG’s girl group will be named Baby Monster as YG is copyrighting this name several years back.
It is said that Baby Monster was intended to be the name for BLACKPINK. However, due to several reasons, the company decided to postpone its use and went for BLACKPINK instead.
Previously, fans often caught sight of female trainees in YG headquarters. The girls always showed up covering their faces.
CEO of YG Foods shared thoughts on their female trainees: “There will be a new girl group that succeeded to BLACKPINK. They are Baby Monster. They are no joke, it is like having 10 Jennies”.
Moreover, netizens are speculating that this new YG girl group will have two Chinese members, possibly Jane Wang and Vicky Wei. They were contestants on “Youth with You” season 2. However, the information remains unconfirmed.
To pass on the heat after BLACKPINK’s comeback, fans hope YG will soon debut this 4th generation girl group to carry on the talent and successes of their seniors.
