The tragic story of a 13-year-old EXO fan who got murdered by her own father once shocked Kpop fans and society as a whole
Back in 2014, Chinese media sites reported about the murder of a 13–year-old EXO fan, who was killed by her own father.
It is known that the fan and her father had a lot of conflicts due to her indifferent attitude towards education and the family’s financial status, as well as her “excessive love” for EXO.
In particular, the girl was “sitting on the computer” and “spending money” all the time to buy EXO goods and host EXO-related events, causing her father to scold her, saying, “Don’t just chase celebrities. No matter how good these celebrities are, your parents love you more than them. This affects your study, you know?”
However, the fan responded that she loves EXO a thousand times more than she loves her father, adding that “Idols are way better”.
These words ended up angering the father, who took out a knife and stabbed the fan with it. Later on, as the father realized that he just murdered his own daughter, he was filled with regret and attempted to take his own life as well.
However, while the father ended up surviving, the daughter could not be saved.
In front of the judge, the father explained that his daughter was obsessed with EXO, causing their relationship to sour. According to the father, his daughter covered her room in merchandise, yelled at people when they got close to her comper,spent all her time on EXO, and demanded huge amounts of money, which exceeds the father’s monthly wage, to buy plane tickets to see EXO.
Then, when the father asked his daughter to save money since the family was not rich, the daughter acted nonchalant and even demanded him to “go and make more money”.
The father also mentioned that when his daughter said she loved EXO more than her parents, he felt extremely furious and solemn, to the point of thinking about ending it all.
