“YG has a reason to spend hundreds of millions of won on us”… WINNER wants to prove their value after renewing their 5-year contract with YG?
Boy group Winner expressed deep trust in their agency YG Entertainment.
On the morning of July 5th, a press conference was held at YG Entertainment building in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul to commemorate the release of the 4th mini-album “HOLIDAY” by boy group WINNER (Kang Seung-yoon, Kim Jin-woo, Song Mino, Lee Seung-hoon).
All four members of WINNER decided to sign a new five-year contract with YG last year. This adds a special meaning to the new album since it will be the first album they release after re-signing with YG.
Kang Seung-yoon said, “The biggest reason for our contract renewal was that all four members could be together. Our synergy with the staff was good as we have been working together with them for more than 10 years since we were trainees.”
He explained, “As a result, I believed that if e could continue to go together, WINNER would be able to work more happily in the future, so I naturally got the members to agree.”
Lee Seung-hoon revealed that their contract was renewed based on their trust in YG. He shared, “YG made a promise to let the member be close to each other even now and for 10 years more. This wouldn’t have been possible if the company hadn’t stepped up. We were able to produce good results based on trust.”
WINNER is determined to prove their growth after opening a new chapter with their contract renewal. When asked about the group’s goals and achievements, Lee Seung-hoon proudly said, “Of course, we want to win 1st place”.
He continued, “We’ve prepared a lot to make the album sales this time better than the previous times. After the members’ discharge, we worked hard by holding group meetings every month. Therefore, of course, we want to get a good result.”
He then shouted out loud, “We don’t do music as a hobby. YG also has a reason to spend hundreds of millions of won on us”, drawing great laughter.
Lastly, he said, “It may sound like a joke, but I hope everyone knows that we’re sincere and we’ve been working really hard on this new album. Please look forward to it.”
The title song “I LOVE YOU” honestly expresses the excitement of falling in love. It’s a song full of WINNER’s unique color and energetic vibe.
In addition, “I LOVE YOU” features the disco dance as its point choreography so that anyone can easily follow it. Above all, members Kang Seung-yoon and Song Mino also participated in writing the lyrics and composing the songs, enhancing the authenticity and completeness of WINNER’s new album.
