According to data released by the domestic album sales aggregation site Hanteo Chart on the 15th, V’s solo album “Layover,” released on the 8th, achieved “double million seller” status by selling a total of 2,101,974 copies by the previous day.

With this achievement, V has set a new record for the highest first-week sales for a K-pop solo album in history. He also holds the distinction of being the first artist to surpass 2 million copies in first-week sales for both group (BTS) and solo releases.

BTS’s strength has been proven through their solo activities as well. So far, only five solo artists have exceeded 1 million copies in first-week sales on Hanteo Chart, with V, Jimin (“FACE”/1,454,223 copies), and Suga (“D-DAY”/1,277,218 copies) taking the top three spots. Especially, these three artists achieved “million seller” status on the very first day of their album releases, demonstrating their immense popularity.

Meanwhile, V’s solo album “Layover,” which means “to take a break during a journey,” signifies a moment to stop and reflect on the past while contemplating the final destination. The album includes six tracks, including the title song “Slow Dancing,” as well as pre-released tracks “Rainy Days,” “Love Me Again,” “Blue,” “For Us,” and a bonus track, “Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.).”
