Did Ahn Jae Hyun’s acting live up to the viewers’ expectations? As a model-turned-actor, Ahn Jae Hyun has previously been embroiled in controversy over his acting skills in several dramas he led. However, when portraying intense emotions, his unnatural expressions and eye movements sometimes break viewers’ immersion.

In “The Real Has Come!”, Ahn Jae Hyun took on the role of Gong Tae Kyung, an obstetrician and gynecologist specializing in infertility clinics with excellent skills. He owns an outstanding appearance and superior genes but prefers staying single. In the first episode, Tae Kyung, who was in a relationship with a famous announcer, refused his girlfriend’s proposal and emphasized his idea of not getting married. Later, he became entangled with Oh Yeon Doo (Baek Jin Hee), who mistook Gong Tae Kyung’s car for the car of her unfaithful lover and scribbled on it, leading to a scandal. As a result, Tae Kyung’s grandmother Eun Geum Sil (Kang Boo Ja) forces him to agree to a strategic marriage with Jang Se Jin (Cha Joo Young).

After the drama aired two episodes, netizens poured out various reactions to An Jae Hyun’s acting on Naver TV’s streaming site and online communities. With a series of big events unfolding one after the other in the first episode, Tae Kyung had to show various emotional changes, and viewers pointed out that Ahn Jae Hyun’s exaggerated expressions broke their immersion again. However, there were also significant positive reviews, saying the actor has shown improvements from his awkward pronunciations and gestures in previous works, making viewers want to support him.

In addition to Baek Jin Hee and Ahn Jae Hyun, “The Real Has Come!” also boasts an amazing supporting cast, including Kang Boo Ja, Cha Hwa Yeon, Kim Hye Ok, Ryu Jin, Choi Dae Chul, Kim Chang Wan, etc. This drama also gained huge attention even before its official broadcast as it is the next acting project of actress Cha Joo Young, who recently earned the nickname “stewardess Hye Jeong” for her chilling villain performance in Netflix’s hit series “The Glory”.

“The Real Has Come!” airs every Saturday and Sunday at 8:05 p.m. KST and has a total of 50 episodes.
