Actor Ahn Jae-hyun, born in 1987 and now a 38-year-old divorcé five years after his split in 2020, recently surprised viewers by revealing a hidden family story his maternal family operates a jokbal (braised pig’s feet) restaurant.
The revelation came during the October 26 episode of ENA, NXT, and Comedy TV’s co-produced reality show Taste Relay: Where One Host Leads to Another. The show features hosts and guests discovering real “hidden gem” restaurants recommended directly by trusted local owners, without any pre-arranged schedules or casted participants.

Episode 6 welcomed OH MY GIRL’s Mimi as the second guest, joining hosts Kim Dae-ho, Ahn Jae-hyun, and Jonathan. The four shared a day full of humor, memes, and mouthwatering food, blending generations through laughter and good taste.
Their culinary journey began in Buyeo, South Chungcheong Province, at a restaurant specializing in dry-aged Korean beef. The rich aroma and tender texture captivated everyone, sparking enthusiastic reactions. When Mimi and Jonathan broke into the viral meme chant “Who made this?” Ahn, confused, asked, “What’s ‘Ho-made-this?’”, prompting a hilarious meme explanation session from the younger people.

Their next stop, however, didn’t go as planned. After a two-and-a-half-hour drive to Daegu for a famous spicy beef soup spot, they discovered the restaurant had already closed. Fortunately, the owner made an exception and served them a special late meal, impressing everyone with the deep, rich broth and perfectly stewed green onions. Mimi praised, “Some places just call themselves famous, but this one truly is. The owner’s pick is on another level.”
Finally, the group arrived at a renowned pork soup (gukbap) restaurant in Gimcheon, packed with regular customers. There, Ahn Jae-hyun shared a personal anecdote, saying, “My mother’s family runs a jokbal restaurant, so I’ve eaten a lot—but this one doesn’t have any odor at all. I’d come to Gimcheon just to eat this.” His unexpected confession earned laughs and applause from the group.

Even frequent customers chimed in, praising the restaurant as “the real deal.” Kim Dae-ho agreed, declaring, “Now I know—the true representative of K-food is gukbap.”
The restaurant owner then revealed his own “life restaurant,” a famous fish soup noodle (eotang-guksu) spot in Cheongsan-myeon, Okcheon County, that’s so popular locals don’t even need to mention its name. The episode ended on a high note, teasing more authentic flavor hunts to come.
Through his down-to-earth humor and rare openness about his family, Ahn Jae-hyun reminded viewers of his easygoing charm proving that even after five years since his divorce, he continues to win hearts not only with his looks but also his relatable personality.
