On Jan 21st, a new video was uploaded on Nam Tae-hyun’s YouTube channel.
Nam Tae-hyun, holding a camera on his way to the hospital, said, “I’m going to the hospital today. It’s been about 7 months since I’ve been going. I’ll have a consultation with the director and also take a urine test. (Going to the hospital) is important. I have to live diligently.”
After visiting the hospital and having a consultation, Nam Tae-hyun, through subtitles in the video, expressed, “Fact attack. My problem. Why am I living like this? The reality hits me.”
Following that, Nam Tae-hyun said “It’s been a long time since I used it, and it’s broken. I have to go get it fixed” and went to repair his guitar. Later, he also spent time talking about music with his boss at a cafe.
In the evening, Nam Tae-hyun met with friends. He had a simple but happy time, kissing his friend’s son on the cheek and enjoying delicious food.
Meanwhile, Nam Tae-hyun, who was indicted for purchasing and using Philopon, received a suspended sentence in the first trial.
On Jan 18th, Chief Judge Jung Chul-min of the Seoul Western District Court’s Criminal Division 7 sentenced Nam Tae-hyun to one year in prison suspended for two years. Broadcaster Seo Eun-woo, who used Philopon with him, received a 10-month prison sentence suspended for two years.
In addition, they were ordered to undergo probation and attend 40 hours of drug addiction treatment lectures. They were jointly sentenced to a fine of 450,000 won, with an additional fine of 100,000 won for Nam Tae-hyun.
After the trial, Nam Tae-hyun apologized, “I’m sorry. I reflect on myself every day and live with remorse. I don’t know what I can do in the future, but I’ll live leaving a positive influence on society.” When asked about the appeal plan, he responded, “I don’t have any.”
