TWICE MiSaMo and NiziU appeared together on a famous Japanese program

TWICE MiSaMo have appeared on the famous Japanese program “Music Station” alongside fellow JYP girl group NiziU.

On the July 21st broadcast of “Music Station”, TWICE’s first unit Misamo, which consists of members Mina, Sana, and Momo, appeared together with girl group NiziU. It is known that

“Music Station” is the most popular music program in Japan, having aired its first episode in October 1986. 

As it features the senior-junior chemistry and talent of JYP Entertainment’s girl groups, the “Music Station” episode with TWICE MiSaMo and NiziU garnered hot reactions even before its airing. Here, the two girl groups shared enjoyable anecdotes with each other, while NiziU Mako and Maya performed Misamo’s “Do not touch” choreography with Mina. Additionally, Mina, Sana, and Momo struck a cute pose in response to the ending of NiziU’s “COCONUT” stage, adding warmth to the show.

When asked about their thoughts on the joint appearance, NiziU’s Miihi expressed her excitement, saying, “I am very happy to have the opportunity to appear with the seniors I admire, who are the reason I came to JYP.”

In response, Mina warmly replied, “It’s not easy (for us) to meet often, so it’s great to be able to appear together and see each other’s healthy and cute sides”.

The performances of both groups also impressed the viewers. In particular, MiSaMo delivered their first TV performance of the title track “Do not touch” from their mini-album “Masterpiece”, which was pre-released on the 14th. Here, the TWICE unit showcased a captivating all-black styling, exuding charisma and chic dance moves to fill the stage. 

Meanwhile, the music video for “Do not touch”, has skyrocketed in popularity since the day of its release. In particular, the video ranked 1st on Japan’s YouTube music video trending chart and 2nd in the US, Mexico, Canada, and Costa Rica. It has also achieved over 10 million views on YouTube as of the afternoon of July 21st.

On the other hand, NiziU presented the stage for the title track “COCONUT” from their second full-length album of the same name, which was released on July 19th. Here, the girl group exuded lovely and refreshing charms, cooling down viewers on hot summer nights. According to the latest Oricon weekly album ranking (July 17th to July 23rd), NiziU’s new album topped the chart. In addition, NiziU also secured the top spot on the Oricon daily album ranking on the 18th and maintained the position for three consecutive days until the 22nd, proving their strong popularity.

Continuing their reign as a leading girl group, NiziU will embark on their second solo tour “NiziU Live with U 2023 ‘COCO! nut Fes.'” until September. Following their successful performances in Saga, Tokyo, and Osaka, they will continue the tour in seven regions including Hiroshima, Aichi, Miyagi, and Hokkaido, with 15 shows. On September 17th and 18th, they will hold their debut solo stadium concert “NiziU Live with U 2023 ‘COCO! nut Fes.’ -Stadium Special-” at Chiba’s ZOZO Marine Stadium.

On the other hand, MiSaMo will officially release their Japan debut album and mini-album “Masterpiece” on July 26th. Prior to this, they held the “MISAMO JAPAN SHOWCASE 2023” and passionately continued their activities as a unit, receiving fervent support from local ONCEs (fans of TWICE) in Japan. They successfully started with showcases in Osaka Intex Osaka Hall 5 on the 22nd and 23rd, and will continue their local debut showcase at the Tokyo Pia Arena MM from the 25th to the 27th.
