TWICE Jeongyeon about her return after herniated disc and panic disorder, “The members were really strong”
Jeongyeon, a member of girl group TWICE, recalled the time she took a break from activities due to a herniated disc in her neck and panic disorder.
On February 23rd, magazine GQ Korea released a pictorial and interview with TWICE member Jeongyeon. The pictorial was taken at a tennis court.
In the interview, GQ Korea said, “There is a reason we really wanted to shoot at the tennis court today. Jeongyeon took a break from TWICE activities due to health issues. Then, we finally got to see Jeongyeon’s face after a long time, in a picture of her smiling brightly with a sweaty bare face in the background. The photo was taken at a tennis court and probably published on Jeongyeon’s tennis teacher’s social media.”
At the same time, GQ Korea asked Jeongyeon if the issues are taboo to her, to which the female idol replied, “No, they are not.”
Then, when GQ Korea inquired about her thoughts during the difficult time, Jeongyeon responded, “This was my most recurring thought during that time.’People’s hearts are so different.’ If I had opened my heart a little more and thought the other way around, I wouldn’t have been so hurt. But I think I was able to get up again because of that process.”
The female also added that these thoughts made it difficult for her, and revealed that it was TWICE members that helped her break the thoughts of feeling “trapped”.
In particular, Jeongyeon said, “The members were really strong. They help me to get up again. They are so precious to me. They never said “Cheer up, you can do it”, but they always came to find me. They called me to share about their day, and included me by asking ‘I’m going here, do you want to come with me?.”
“Instead of saying anything, not a single one of them didn’t believe in me”, Jeongyeon said, adding, “Everyone believed in me and waited for me. We were always like this, but I think I became closer with the members.”
On the other hand, Jeongyeon has suspended activities several times due to a herniated disc in her neck and panic disorder.
