TWICE held two encore performances at a stadium in North America as the “first K-pop girl group” to do so and shared the heat from their American tour with more than 44,000 audiences.
TWICE held their fourth world tour “TWICE 4TH WORLD TOUR ‘III’ at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles on May 14th and 15th (local time).
The concert this time was designed to respond to global fans’ enthusiastic support for their previous Americas tour, starting with Los Angeles on February 15th, 2022 to Oakland, Fort Worth, Atlanta, and New York. The encore concert originally has only one night on May 14th, but the tickets were sold out pretty quickly, leading to an additional performance on May 15th which also sold out all tickets as soon as it was opened for sale.
As a result, TWICE, which sold out nine concerts in five U.S. cities, including two encore concerts, attracted about 150,000 viewers in the U.S. alone, boasting their powerful ability to move the audience. In particular, as the “first K-pop girl group” to hold a concert at a North American stadium, they have carved their name in history and proved their unlimited global growth even in their seventh year after debut.
As they wrapped up their two-day encore concert, TWICE said, “We never thought we would be back in Los Angeles so soon, but you guys made it happen. This is TWICE’s first outdoor concert, and I think it will be remembered as our best memory. Thank you.” Member Dahyun added in, “I had a very happy time with you guys. Life brings us tears, laughter, and memories. Tears dry up and laughter fade, but memories remain for life. Even after a long time, the happy memories of today will shine brightly like jewels in our hearts. I love you,” she said, expressing her sincere heart before the audience cheered loudly and sang a moving birthday song to Dahyun, who was about to celebrate her birthday.
In addition, the hashtags “TWICEINLA” and “TWICE_4TH_WORLD_TOUR” were ranked first and second side by side on the real-time trending chart of Twitter Los Angeles during the 2 days of their concert, giving the public a glimpse of their explosive local buzz.
Meanwhile, TWICE has raised its status as the “first K-pop girl group” to achieve and even sell out three consecutive concerts at Tokyo Dome after entering Tokyo Dome in the shortest period of time since their debut as an overseas artist, and succeeded in entering a North American stadium for the first time in K-pop girl group history.
Recently, TWICE added a new record on Gaon Chart, a record sales data site. According to the 2022 monthly album chart released by Gaon Chart, TWICE sold 460,000 copies with their 18 previously released albums in four months from January to April. Although they haven’t had any album release this year, as they re-entered the monthly album chart, K-pop fans around the world are looking forward to and paying attention to TWICE’s next move, which is on the rise in worldwide popularity following their world tour.
Meanwhile, right after finishing the concert tour, all TWICE members opened their personal Instagram accounts.
