Over 8 million viewers participated in the vote for the 2023 Brand Of The Year Awards
Recently, the 2023 Brand Of The Year Awards announced their official results. This year’s awards were determined with the participation of over 8,019,000 viewers and consumers. Immediately, the results in the drama category received significant attention from the audience.
In the category of Best Leading Actress in 2023, three names representing film, television, and online streaming platforms respectively are IU, Kim So Yeon, and Lim Ji Yeon.
Regarding IU, in 2023, she returned with the film “Dream.” This work wasn’t highly praised for its screenplay, but IU’s performance is considered to bring a relatively fresh perspective compared to her previous roles. As for Kim So Yeon, she made a very successful comeback with the film “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938.” Her appearance was seen as a “rescue” for the film’s brand, after the first part received mixed reviews due to the presence of the female lead, Jo Bo Ah.
As for Lim Ji Yeon, she won big in the OTT category thanks to her outstanding transformation in the work “The Glory.” Additionally, she was recently honored by Bechdelday as the Actress of the Year with two television series, “The Glory” and “Lies Hidden in My Garden” (Bechdelday is an award organized by the Korean Film Directors’ Association). 2023 can be said to be a resounding success for Lim Ji Yeon, thanks to her role as the antagonist of Song Hye Kyo in “The Glory,” where she consistently won major awards at prestigious ceremonies.
