ITZY member Ryujin delighted viewers with a surprise cameo in the finale of JTBC’s weekend drama Reborn Rookie, delivering one of the episode’s funniest moments through an unexpected body-swap twist with actor Lee Jun Young.
The final episode (Episode 12), which aired on July 5, centered on another supernatural twist involving Kang Yong Ho (played by Son Hyun Joo) and Hwang Jun Hyun (played by Lee Jun Young).
As Kang Yong Ho witnessed Hwang Jun Hyun sharing a kiss with Kang Bang Geul (played by Lee Joo Myung), he stormed toward the pair in anger. Before he could confront them, Hwang Jun Hyun, Kang Yong Ho, and Ryujin accidentally collided. The impact triggered a supernatural soul swap, leaving Hwang Jun Hyun and Ryujin trapped in each other’s bodies.
Following the unexpected body swap, Ryujin—now inhabiting Hwang Jun Hyun’s body—desperately tried to convince everyone of her true identity. To prove who she was, she even broke into ITZY’s signature choreography, hoping those around her would recognize her. Unfortunately for her, no one believed the performance, creating one of the finale’s biggest comedic moments. The lighthearted sequence showcased Ryujin’s natural comedic timing while adding an entertaining fantasy twist to the drama’s conclusion.
Although her appearance was brief, Ryujin’s unexpected guest role gave fans an enjoyable surprise and provided a humorous ending to Reborn Rookie.
The idol’s energetic performance, combined with the drama’s body-swap premise, offered a fitting final laugh as the JTBC series wrapped up its run.
