On July 6, actor Bae Ji Wan shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos on social media documenting his dramatic transformation into the character known simply as “Reggae Hair.”

The photos showed Bae Ji Wan’s hair being teased into a fuller volume before each section was painstakingly braided into dreadlocks. After completing the lengthy styling process, he proudly shared the finished look, writing: “A total of 13 hours… completed.”

The actor also reflected on the demanding experience, revealing that he lived with the hairstyle for two months while filming. “My hair ended up completely damaged after spending two months with dreadlocks, but I was truly happy and grateful.”

In Agent Kim Reactivated, Bae Ji Wan played one of Shin Sung Ho’s gang members, nicknamed “Reggae Hair.” The hairstyle became even more memorable during Episode 3, when Manager Kim, played by So Ji Sub, violently subdued the character in an intense action sequence. The scene featured So Ji Sub grabbing and ripping out parts of the character’s scalp and hair, shocking viewers with its brutal realism.

Bae Ji Wan’s latest revelation has since impressed fans, many of whom had assumed the hairstyle was created using a wig or prosthetics.

Born in 1994, Bae Ji Wan made his acting debut in 2020 through the JTBC sitcom Hanging On. He is currently signed with Fantagio and continues to build his career through supporting roles in television dramas.
