Actor and singer Lee Joon made a candid confession about his past relationships, revealing that discussions about marriage with a former girlfriend left him feeling emotionally overwhelmed. The revelation will air in the July 7 episode of JTBC’s relationship variety show Love War, which features a new case involving a long-distance “working holiday couple.”
While discussing the couple’s relationship struggles, Lee Joon reflected on his own dating experience. “I once had a girlfriend who wanted to get married. Every time she talked about our marriage plans, it felt like my heart was slowly being squeezed,” he admitted honestly. His confession highlighted the emotional pressure he experienced when facing the prospect of marriage, even while in a serious relationship.
Fellow panelist Kim Heechul also found himself relating to the boyfriend featured in the episode, who struggles to understand his partner’s emotions.
Watching the story unfold, Heechul admitted he saw his younger self in the man. “He’s so much like me,” he said before adding, “I really need to reflect.” The Super Junior member used the opportunity to look back on his own approach to dating and acknowledged that he could have handled past relationships better.
Host Lee Hyori expressed understanding toward the boyfriend’s point of view during the discussion. At one point, the boyfriend revealed that Lee Hyori was his favorite celebrity, prompting his girlfriend who was said to resemble actress Kim Yoo Jung to jokingly show signs of jealousy.
