The total number of new idol groups debuting in the first 9 months of 2018 may come as a shock

The below statistics may cause Kpop fans to breathe a sign.

It turned out that the trend to launch many new idol groups has not ended even when the management companies had seen the number of flopping rookies. The latest statistics show that only in the first 9 months of 2018, 52 new idol groups officially debuted in the Kpop industry. On average, every 5 days there is a new group debuting.

In general, the recruits in 2018 have much higher investment than their seniors who debuted 3 or 4 years ago. Each group is pursuing a concept and a genre of music which despite not being really unique, but still expresses the effort to build their personal colors. Unfortunately, the entertainment market has already saturated. Of the 52 new recruits, only 10 idol groups can leave the public an impression.
