“The Good Bad Mother” Lee Do Hyun, “My character this time is different from ‘The Glory’ Joo Yeo Jeong”

Actor Lee Do Hyun compared his characters in “The Good Bad Mother” and his previous work “The Glory”.

On the morning of April 26th, the press conference for JTBC’s new Wed-Thu drama “The Good Bad Mother” (written by Bae Se Young/ directed by Shim Na Yeon) was held online. Director Shim Na Yeon and the cast, including Ra Mi Ran, Lee Do Hyun, and Ahn Eun Jin, attended the event.

“The Good Bad Mother” is a healing comedy drama that depicts the story of Young Soon (Ra Mi Ran), who has no choice but to become a bad mother for the sake of her child, and her son Kang Ho (Lee Do Hyun), who suddenly returns as a child, finding their lost happiness.

In this work, Lee Do Hyun plays the son Choi Kang Ho, a prosecutor who becomes a child again due to an unexpected accident. The actor is expected to express contrasting narratives, ranging from a cold-blooded prosecutor who prioritizes success to a pure child, with his own acting style.

Earlier, Lee Do Hyun took on the role of Joo Yeo Jeong in Netflix’s original series “The Glory” and received favorable reviews. When asked if Kang Ho is different from his role in “The Glory”, the actor emphasized, “Choi Kang Ho is completely different from Joo Yeo Jeong”.

Lee Do Hyun shared, “Choi Kang Ho has various aspects. He was raised by a good mother, but sometimes, the bad son inside him also shows. That son of that mother.”

Revealing that portraying a child was challenging, the actor confessed, “It was not easy at all. The director and senior actress Ra Mi Ran led me through the difficult parts. If the portrayal of a child’s expressions is too exaggerated, the character may look insincere. I was worried about that a lot, so I changed and adjusted my acting a lot. During the process, I became more cheerful and bright.”

“The Good Bad Mother” will premiere at 10:30 p.m. on April 26th.
