The 32nd Seoul Music Awards’ first round of voting is about to end: The voting status is?

The 32nd Seoul Music Awards will summarize the music industry in 2022.

The Seoul Music Awards was born in 1990 and has served as a stepping stone for the development of K-pop culture for over 30 years. Artists are competing fiercely for awards in each category, including the Daesang (Grand Prize), Bonsang (Main Prize), the Rookie of the Year Award, and the Special Prize by genre.

In particular, in the case of the 16 main award winning artists, mobile voting is 30%, which is the same as the judges’ evaluation. The Rookie Award is also selected based on the same criteria.

Because the participation of not only domestic but also global fans is high, it is reflected at a rate of 50% each for domestic and overseas fans. The Popularity Award and the Hallyu Special Award, which are selected with 100% of domestic and overseas votes, are even more meaningful because the winners are directly decided by fans.

The number of votes in the first round has already surpassed 10 million votes within two weeks of the start of voting, proving a keen interest in the Seoul Music Awards. Currently, with the first mobile voting closing on December 25th, fans are fiercely competing until the end.

First of all, the two trot emperors representing Korea faced each other for the Bonsang. As of 11 am KST on December 22nd, Lim Young Woong ranked first with 1,435,100 votes (23.42%), followed closely by Kim Ho Joong with 1,088,899 votes (17.77%) in second place.

The two are also running 1st and 2nd in the popularity category, which is selected only by 100% domestic fans’ votes. Lim Young Woong took first place with 441,750 votes (51.39%), and Kim Ho Joong took second place with 271,650 votes (31.6%).

Kang Daniel, who got 400,811 votes (6.54%), took third place in the Bonsang category. Jin, the eldest member of BTS who has enlisted in the military, landed in 4th place with 350,832 votes (5.73%).

The competition for the Rookie of the Year award, which is the starting point for the K-pop generational shift, is even hotter. Tempest, which is showing tremendous growth with their recently released 3rd mini album ‘On and On’, is in first place with 76,428 votes (23.98%), and 4th generation girl group Lapillus is in second place with 54,251 votes (17.02%). LE SSERAFIM came in third with 49,586 votes (15.56%). TNX is closely behind LE SSERAFIM with 44,147 votes (13.85%).

For the Hallyu Daesang, which is decided 100% by overseas fans, BTS holds first place with 285,405 votes (38.21%), while EXO’s Suho has a slight difference with 269,259 votes (36.05%). For this reason, the main character of the Hallyu Daesang will be in an unpredictable situation until the last voting is over.
