In 2023, TVING and tvN plan to present a number of dramas. The works scheduled to be released on TVING and tvN in 2023 are summarized.
1. Island
Starring Lee Da Hee, Kim Nam Gil and Cha Eun Woo, “Island” is a fantasy action drama. It depicts the journey of characters who are destined to fight against the evil that is trying to destroy the world.
“Island” will be broadcast in two parts. Part 1 will be released on Dec 30th, 2022 and Part 2 will be released in 2023.
2. Duty After School
Based on Ha Il Kwon’s webtoon of the same name, “Duty After School” is a sci-fi thriller that depicts the story of all students from all over the country conscripted and fighting to gain extra points by fighting unidentified objects ahead of the SAT.
3. See You in My 19th Life
It is a story of the reincarnation of the female lead character played by Shin Hye Sun. She was reborn into a wealthy family who runs an entertainment agency called WW Entertainment.
In her previous life, the 18th life, 12-year-old Yoon Joo Won meets 9-year-old Moon Seo Ha and falls in love with him, but loses her life in an accident and is reborn as Ban Ji Eum in the 19th life and meets Moon Seo Ha again. Actors Shin Hye Sun, Ahn Bo Hyun, Ha Yoon Kyung and Ahn Dong Goo will appear.
4. Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938
Starring Lee Dong Wook, Kim So Yeon, Kim Bum and Ryu Kyung Soo, “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938” is a prequel to the first season “Tale of the Nine Tailed”. It is a fantasy drama revolving around Lee Yeon (played by Lee Dong Wook), a nine-tailed fox who crash-landed in an era of chaos in 1938.
5. Crash Course in Romance
“Crash Course in Romance” follows the bittersweet relationship between a popular instructor in the private education field and a side dish store owner who belatedly enters the war of Korea’s college entrance exams. Jung Kyung Ho plays the role of the instructor and Jeon Do Yeon plays the role of the store owner. This is the first time the two have worked together since their debut.
6. Arthdal Chronicles 2
The drama “Arthdal Chronicles”, which aired in 2018, boasted a spectacular scale with a production cost of 54 billion won. It tells the fateful story of heroes writing different legends in a mythical land called Arth.
“Arthdal Chronicles 1” was broadcast in 3 parts and 18 episodes. It ended with the highest viewership rating of 8.1%.
“Arthdal Chronicles 2”, which is scheduled to air in 2023, will feature Lee Joon Gi, Shin Se Kyung, Jang Dong Gun and Kim Ok Bin.
