“Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938” Kim So Yeon takes off her hanbok coat to save a gisaeng

Actress Kim So Yeon overwhelmed viewers with her explosive charisma.

The third episode of tvN’s Sat-Sun drama “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938”, which aired on May 13th, showed Ryu Hong Joo (Kim So Yeon) taking off her jeogori (the upper garment of Korean traditional clothes) to save Nancho (Na Hyun).

Ryu Hong Joo, the owner of Myoyeongak, raged at the Japanese soldier who came to Myoyeongak and said he would buy Nancho overnight. She asked, “You want to buy her for a night? She’s not selling herself. She’s an artist.”

The Japanese soldier said, “If I say I’m buying her, you will have to sell me her art and her body”. Ryu Hong Joo asked, “What if we don’t sell it?”, the Japanese soldier angrily replied, “Then there will be a hole in her head.”

Hearing that, Ryu Hong Joo took off her coat and said, “What about me? Why don’t you take me instead?”. When the Japanese soldier asked, “How much is the price for you?”, Ryu Hong Joo said, “It’s free”, adding, “There is a condition. If you can beat me in a drinking game, you can do whatever you want.”

The Japanese soldier accepted the condition, saying “If I win, I will take you and her wrist”. However, he lost to Ryu Hong Joo in the drinking battle. Ryu Hong Joo then punished him with the string of the gayageum (a traditional Korean instrument).
