Police Found Unexpected Motive Behind The Crime Of Woman In Her 20s Who Blackmailed Lee Sun-kyun

On January 1st, Yonhap News cited the words of a legal official and reported, “The woman in her 20s who was recently arrested on charges of blackmailing, reported to the police the suspicion of B, head of an entertainment establishment in October last year”.

A, who had been imprisoned for fraud, met B, who had already been convicted six times on drug charges, and became close to her in prison. After being released, A lived upstairs to B in the same studio apartment. However, the two had a conflict over money last year.

Afterward, A reported to the police that B was a drug addict. A personally visited the Drug Crime Investigation Office at the Incheon Police Agency and provided evidence, such as B’s hair. The police believe that financial problems and threats towards Lee Sun-kyun are among the reasons for her report.

While suspecting that A might possibly be the person who threatened B, the police are not excluding the possibility of another blackmailer. The investigation is still underway.

On the 1st, A police officer said, “The investigation is still going on so we cannot reveal any details. Although Lee Sun-kyun has passed away, we plan to continue the investigation of the blackmailing case”.

Earlier on December 28th, A was arrested for blackmailing the late actor Lee Sun-kyun and extorting 50 million won from him. At that time, A appeared at the warrant examination with her child. 

A and B have been under investigation as Lee Sun-kyun filed a complaint against them. The late actor revealed that he transferred 50 million won to A and 300 million won to B, respectively.
