Infinite’s Nam Woo-hyun shared his feelings about his recent challenges and successes
Despite achieving many milestones in 2023, including an Asia tour fanmeeting, a full-group concert after 7 years and the release of his first solo full album, he faced a significant setback in April when he underwent surgery for a rare cancer called GIST.
Nam Woo-hyun expressed the difficulty he experienced during his recovery, revealing that he had moments when he doubted if he could continue his activities. However, he emphasized that he has significantly recovered and is undergoing follow-up examinations. Despite his health challenges, he proceeded with the release of Infinite’s full-group album “Begin” in July.
Nam Woo-hyun released his first solo full album “WHITREE” expressing his emotions and messages he gained from his struggles. The title track “Baby Baby” is a city pop genre song with an exciting melody and Nam Woo-hyun’s lyrical vocals, aiming to convey a warm winter sentiment. Nam Woo-hyun actively participated in the creation of the album, contributing to lyrics and composition for multiple tracks.
Reflecting on his 13-year career, Nam Woo-hyun acknowledged the anxiety that comes with popularity and the uncertainty of maintaining fan support. Despite his worries, he expressed a determination to overcome challenges and continue creating music for fans. He concluded by announcing plans for his solo concert in December, followed by potential overseas tours. He also teased the English version of “Baby Baby”.
