Chuu Shed Tears At Her Solo Debut Showcase, “I’ve Never Done Anything Shameful”

Former LOONA member Chuu burst into tears at her solo debut showcase

On October 18th, Chuu held the showcase for her first mini album “HOWL” at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.

Chuu made her debut as a member of the girl group LOONA under Blockberry Creative. However, the agency expelled her from the group after a contract dispute over unfair settlements in 2021, but she continued to carry out individual activities, such as appearing on entertainment programs. In the end, the court ruled in favor of Chuu in the contract lawsuit, then the female singer signed with her new agency ATRP to make a solo debut six years after her debut.

At the showcase, Chuu surprised fans with her 180-degree transformation. Unlike her normal bright and cheerful appearance, Chuu showcased a dreamy and serious image on the stage.

During the press conference after the performance, Chuu couldn’t hold back her tears and burst into tears. 

The reporter asked Chuu about her feelings when making a solo debut and releasing her first album after overcoming the contract dispute. In response, she tearfully confessed, “I don’t feel regretful or upset about the issue that arose from an unwanted topic. But I’m sincerely sorry to fans who must have suffered a harder time than me.”

She continued, “I already told my fans about this, but I want to say it again that I’ve done anything shameful”. Park So-hyun, who was in charge of hosting the showcase, also shed tears upon hearing Chuu’s answer.

Meanwhile, the title song “Howl” combines intense beats with an addictive melody that highlights Chuu’s delicate vocal. The lyrics tell about the process of two people with wounds in their hearts healing each other.
