NewJeans expressed their thoughts on celebrating their 1st debut anniversary.
On July 24th, IU’s official YouTube channel released “IU’s Palette” featuring NewJeans members as guests.
IU and NewJeans previously met at the Blue Dragon Film Awards” IU said, “The film festival itself was very entertaining. In the midst of it, NewJeans came out, and I was completely captivated.”
NewJeans recalled, “I remember that day. From what I remember, we gave each other energy and had a lot of fun.” IU praised, “On every stage, their performance not only entertains the audience but also uplifts the atmosphere through interactions.“
Hyein said, “I listen to a lot of IU’s songs. I’ve been listening to them while coming here too. But seeing her in person makes me so nervous.” Danielle shared, “I was very excited when I heard that we will be on ‘Palette.’ I had expectations since I could sing IU’s songs and wanted to dance together.“
IU and NewJeans are even connected by parallel theories. IU, Minji and Hanni share a common bond through their strong love for bread, while Hyein and IU share the number “2008.” IU debuted in 2008, and Hyein was born in 2008.
IU commented, “Back then, when I went to broadcasting stations or schedules, I heard people saying, ‘Did a middle school student debut?’ I think Hyein is hearing that now.” IU and Danielle have a similar style of taking selfies from the back.

However, when I asked a shopkeeper for something, they held onto me and said, ‘I am a Bunnies’. It was only 6 months after our debut then, and I was so surprised.”
Meanwhile, NewJeans released their mini 2nd album “Get Up” on July 21st.
