Netflix K-dramas to be Released in 2024: Full Line-up (Latest Update)

OTT platform Netflix has unveiled its line-up of K-dramas in 2024, from new seasons of popular titles to completely new series. 

Only 2 months in, and OTT platform Netflix has satisfied K-drama fans with various intriguing works such as “A Killer Paradox” and “The Bequeathed”. 

Therefore, for the rest of 2024, a plethora of K-dramas covering all sorts of genres can be anticipated, and below is the full line-up of Netflix K-dramas to be released in 2024. 

1. Chicken Nugget 

  • Release date: March 15, 2024
  • Genre: Comedy, Mystery
  • Main cast: Ryu Seung-ryong, Ahn Jae-hong, Kim Yoo-jung, Jung Ho-yeon

Starting the list is the Netflix exclusive “Chicken Nugget”, which story starts after Choi Min-ah (Kim Yoo-jung), the daughter of a company president, mistakes a new machine as a device which helps her with her fatigue, and is accidentally turned into a chicken nugget.

As her father, Choi Seon-man (Ryu Seung-ryong) and intern Go Baek-joong (Ahn Jae-hong), who has a crush on her, try to turn her back into a human, they discover unexpected secrets.

2. Parasyte: The Grey

Adapted from the Japanese manga “Parasite”, “Parasyte: The Grey” starts as mysterious parasites fall from the sky. They turn humans into their hosts and murder other humans, creating their own force. Humans must now fight to stop the invading creatures from taking over the world.

Amid this setting, Jung Soo-in (Jeon So-nee) is penetrated by a parasite, but the parasite fails to take over her brain, leading to a unique cohabiting situation. 

3. The 8 Show

In “The 8 Show”, 8 people in need of money are invited to appear on a reality-variety show. The 8 people are to stay at the studio that consists of nothing but concrete walls. If they are able to hang in there for 100 days, they can divide the winning prize of 44.8 billion won equally. But, everything they spend on, including necessities like food, water, and electricity, costs 1,000 times more than normal prices and is deducted from the winning prize.

4. Sweet Home 3

  • Release date: Quarter 2, 2024
  • Genre:  Action, Horror, Sci-Fi
  • Main cast: Song Kang, Lee Jin-wook, Lee Si-young, Go Min-si, Lee Do-hyun

The 3rd season of “Sweet Home” will be the franchise “grand finale” with big reveals, continuing the story of survivors in a world where people turn into monsters based on their greatest desire. It will also unveil the fate of characters in Season 2, welcoming the return of old characters, while introducing new ones.

Jooshin High School is the most prestigious school in South Korea. The school was established by the conglomerate Jooshin Group. Normally, only students that are chosen at birth to attend Jooshin High School are allowed. Those students include Jung Jae-yi (Roh Jeong-eui), who is is the first daughter of the family that runs Jaeyeol Group, Kim Ri-an (Kim Jae-won) who is the successor of the Jooshin Group, Yoon He-ra (Ji Hye-won) who is the youngest daughter of trading company International Yoon, and Lee Woo-jin (Lee Won-jung) who is second son of a powerful politician family.

Meanwhile, Kang Ha (Lee Chae-min) is transferred to Jooshin High School. He possesses a pure and innocent smile, but he holds a secret. Due to him, the concrete world of Jooshin High School begins to crack.

6. Gyeongseong Creature 2

Set in the year 2024 in Seoul, South Korea, the 2nd season of “Gyeongseong Creature” starts as Ho-jae (Park Seo-joon), who strongly resembles Season 1’s Jang Tae-sang, and Yoon Chae-ok (Han So-Hee) meet each other. They dig into the story of their unfinished relationship, fate, and their past from Gyeongseong.

7. The Whirlwind

  • Release date: Quarter 3, 2024
  • Genre:  Drama, Political
  • Main cast: Sol Kyung-gu, Kim Hee-ae

“The Whirlwind” revolves around Park Dong-ho (Sol Kyung-gu), the prime minister of South Korea. He wants to punish the corrupt president, who colluded with powerful family owned corporations called chaebols, and change the world of politics. 

Meanwhile, Jung Soo-jin (Kim Hee-ae) is the deputy prime minister for economic affairs. She confronts Park Dong-ho and a fierce political strife ensues.

8. The Frog

  • Release date: Quarter 3, 2024
  • Genre:  Thriller, Mystery, Psychological, Drama 
  • Main cast: Kim Yoon-seok, Yoon Kye-sang, Go Min-si, Lee Jung-eun

“The Frog” tells the story of two men, Sang-joon (Yoon Kye-sang), who was running a motel in a rural area during the summer of 2000, and Young-ha (Kim Yoon-seok), who was running a pension alone in the forest during the summer of 2021.

It was previously confirmed that EXO’s Chanyeol and actress Roh Yoon-seo will assume a role in this K-drama.

9. Hellbound 2

Hellhound 2” begins with the resurrection of Jung Jin-soo (Kim Sung-cheol) and Park Jung-ja (Kim Shin-rok). 

Meanwhile, Min Hye-jin (Kim Hyun-joo) continues her fight against Saejinrihwe and The Arrowheads. Additionally, a secret group called Sodo appears and opposes Saejinrihwe. They are led by a mysterious man (Yang Dong-geun).

10. The Trunk

  • Genre:  Mystery, Romance, Melodrama 
  • Main cast: Seo Hyun-jin, Gong Yoo

“Trunk” follows the lives of Noh In-ji (Seo Hyun-jin), head of a fixed-term marriage service agency named NM that fixes its clients a marriage life with their dream spouses, and the music producer Han Jung-won (Gong Yoo). Neither of them agrees with the idea of marriage. 

Even though her career revolves around it, Noh In-ji prefers to stay single, while Han Jung-won firmly believes all marriages are deceitful.

11. Mr. Plankton

“Mr. Plankton” is romantic comedy that depicts the story of people who can’t blend in or connect with anyone, just like plankton. 

In particular, Hae-jo (Woo Do-hwan) is a man whose heart is empty because he owns nothing. He dreams of a colorful future away from his gloomy plankton-like life where he feels like he doesn’t belong anywhere and doesn’t have anyone he cares about. Meanwhile, Jo Jae-mi (Lee Yoo-mi) is someone who will give Hae-jo an infinite amount of love and want to become his family.

12. Squid Game 2

As the 2nd season to the major hit “Squid Game”, “Squid Game 2” will follow the journey of male lead Seong Gi-hoon, who sets his mind on uncovering the secrets of the mysterious death game that he previously won.
