Netflix’s highly-anticipated series “The Glory” held a press conference with the attendance of the production team and actors on the morning of Dec 20th.
“The Glory” tells the story of a woman who puts an elaborate revenge scheme in motion to make the perpetrators pay for their crimes years after surviving horrific abuse in high school. Song Hye Kyo plays “Moon Dong Eun”, a victim of brutal school violence during high school. Dropping out of high school, she swears to seek revenge on the perpetrators and bystanders who made her life miserable. Lim Ji Yeon plays “Park Yeon Jin”, who has an outstanding visual but ruthless personality. She was the leader of the team that committed harsh violence against Moon Dong Eun.
In particular, Lim Ji Yeon takes on the role of a villain for the first time since her debut.
In addition, actress Lim Ji Yeon perfectly matched the expression “an angel’s face yet a devil’s heart”, even smiling like an angel while saying, “I can play the villain well, I will do my best”.
Lim Ji Yeon also revealed that there was a scene where she and Song Hye Kyo slapped each other in the drama. At the time, they really went all out and did their best to slap each other in the face.
In response, Song Hye Kyo revealed that it was the first time she had ever been slapped properly while working as an actress. After being slapped, her head became fuzzy and she couldn’t recall her next line. Then, when the director shouted “cut”, Song Hye Kyo even saw the palm prints clearly visible on both her and Lim Ji Yeon’s face.
Due to this, it was impossible for the two of them to continue shooting right away, so both had to soothe their skin with an ice pack. Such an intense scene is adding to the audience’s anticipation for “The Glory” as well as its acting performances.
In fact, there has only been one short trailer released for “The Glory”, yet the suspenseful directing, the captivating acting, and memorable lines are raising expectations high. This desperate revenge drama will be released on December 30th.
