Lee Byung Hun, Park Seo Joon, and Park Bo Young’s Disaster Film “Concrete Utopia” Confirmed for August Release

“Concrete Utopia” featuring a star-studded cast including Lee Byung Hun, Park Seo Joon, and Park Bo Young is set to be out in August. 

“Concrete Utopia”, a highly anticipated film that brings together Lee Byung Hun, Park Seo Joon, and Park Bo Young, has confirmed its release in cinemas in August. The teaser poster and trailer have been unveiled.

“Concrete Utopia” depicts a disaster drama set in Seoul, which has turned into ruins due to a massive earthquake. The story begins as survivors gather in the last remaining apartment building, Hwang Gung Apartments.

With its unique and well-executed world-building, the film captures the attention of viewers worldwide, following the success of “Hellbound” and “D.P.” produced by Climax Studios. “Concrete Utopia”, the new film from the same production company, will be released in August, becoming a highly anticipated summer blockbuster.

Set against the backdrop of a city devastated by a massive earthquake, “Concrete Utopia” portrays the story of the individuals who survive inside and outside the apartment building. 

Lee Byung Hun, Park Seo Joon, and Park Bo Young’s fresh combination raises expectations. In this film, Lee Byung Hun will portray the new resident representative Yeong Tak who will fearlessly protect the apartment building from external threats. Park Seo Joon takes on the role of Min Sung, who dedicates himself to protecting the apartment and his family. Park Bo Young, as Myung Hwa, will showcase her matured acting skills by maintaining her beliefs even in extreme situations.

The teaser poster, released alongside the confirmation of the August release, stimulates curiosity. It portrays a city in ruins, with only one apartment building still standing, igniting the imagination. The caption, “Everything collapsed except our apartment,” adds to the anticipation.

The teaser trailer immediately raises curiosity with Lee Byung Hun’s captivating voice as Yeong Tak. His line, “I felt like this apartment was chosen,” creates a sense of mystery from the beginning. 

The trailer captures the appearance of the residents who must survive in the apartment, the only place left standing amidst the ruins caused by the earthquake. The intense tension between the characters intensifies, offering an immersive experience that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. 

In particular, the new character transformations of Lee Byung Hun, Park Seo Joon, and Park Bo Young, which have not been seen before, leave a strong impression and raise expectations for their performances. 

“Concrete Utopia”, a film adapted from the popular webtoon “Pleasant Bullying”, which received critical acclaim since its serialization in 2014, has confirmed its theatrical release in August.
